Coach Herrmann enters his fourth year coaching with Mars Hill University. In his first year he helped instruct the man down unit an 83% penalty kill which was ranked 1st in the SAC and 2nd overall. Prior to coaching at Mars Hill, Herrmann spent one season coaching Capital High school in WV and earned US Lacrosse Assistant Coach of The Year honors for the state. As a defenseman and a faceoff midfielder for the Lions from 2010-2013, Coach Herrmann started and played in every single game of his career. In his senior year he finished 3rd in the nation in faceoff percent at 67% and 2nd in the nation in ground balls per game at 8.2. He also holds the single season ground ball record for the Mars Hill Lions at 115 ground balls. Coach Herrmann also played a key role in the man down unit his freshman year that was ranked #1 in the country. A team captain his senior year, Coach Herrmann was awarded the Puma Cup which is given to the Most Valuable Player on the team.
Enters his seventh season at the helm of the Mars Hill University Lacrosse Program. Under his tutelage in 2014 the Lions offense ranked 6th in the Country in scoring offense which averaged 14.6 goals per game, the Lions also ranked 5th in the Country in assists per game with 7.88, and 5th in the Country in with 21.94 points per game. In 2014 Mars Hill had the #1 shooting percentage in the country at 41.4%. He helped lead the top scoring offense in the SAC to the teams first SAC Tournament Championship in 2015. In 20 years at University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill Coach Klarmann was a part of four National Championships, nine ACC crowns, and seventeen NCAA Tournament appearances. He also had the pleasure of being on the staff at Duke University and helped the “Dookies” to an ACC title in 2002. During his time at MHU, Coach Klarmann has an overall record of 39-20. Coach Klarmann is well aware that great players and a great staff make a good head coach.
